.. that is one expensive piece of paper ..

well it is official. He is finally done, at least on record from UVU. we got his diploma in the mail the other day and he couldn't wait to show everyone, although his face doesn't show it.

so proud of you!

.. what's up pussy cat - wahoo, wahoo ohhh .

so i suck at blogging. life has gotten way to busy it seems. like i feel like i can't even catch up. it is killing me. so i thought i would take these few moments that i do have, and update the situation.

since january, jet has his first birthday. yay. i need to do a blog post on that, and i will maybe this weekend. don't judge me. we found out that my younger sister is having a baby boy in june. my brother m* had a birthday, he joined the mid- twenties crew. ha ha. my youngest brother applied for his eagle, since we did his project - finally.

{we got our eyes checked, um yeah i had to have my eyes dilated because i have a 'floater' in my vision- which is a glorified answer for there is a black spot in your vision and we don't know why, where it is or how to get rid of it, good luck. Cody also had his done, his prescription changed, he is blinder - it is a word today, don't judge.}

{jet discovered snow, he LOVES it. he shoves his face in the snow every chance he gets, minus the slush. he is a priss}

and most importantly, cody took his commercial check ride (for all you non-flight peeps, it is like a chapter test before the final. if you can pass this they recommend you for the final test with the big cheese flight peoples.) phew! we are so excited, he is a mere 7.5 flight hours away from being mailed his diploma. can i get a woot woot?! we are stoked. which leads to the next adventure / process. cody is going to start doing stuff for his CFI (translation : Certified, Flight, Instructor. = take newbie scary and possibly sketchy students up in the air and teach them how to fly. i am terrified he is excited. i told him he HAD to get his concealed weapons permit and that we will be purchasing a fire arm). the cost for this training, i feel is astronomical. but we have to pay for it none the less. So here comes the other part.. i need to start picking up business as far as photography or designing invites goes so i can help pay for this outrageous training. so if you would be so kind as to pass along to anyone you may know that i am looking for work, that would be FANTASTIC. I will give them a deal and what not. just spread the word peeps, so i can finally be done with school. and when i say i, i really mean us.

thanks friend! carry on and happy thursday to you!

happy oct.. i mean november!

alright so I am terribly lame, I know. I got so busy with work and stuff at home that when it came time to try and update the blog all i wanted to do was sleep or not be around a computer. ha ha. so my bad. so here is a catch up of our october. cody went on a trip with the school on the 14th for a week. he toured the FEDEX facilities out there and flew in a simulator that costs $8,000 an hour to run. yes I did see about a million pictures of planes and listened to hours of stories and factoids he had to give. but i love him. so, yep just me and jet bug at home. so our nights consisted of late night photo sessions and watching loads of greys anatomy. love that show.

he was home for a week, and in that week we did this..

went and saw thriller, great tradition we have. it is a dance show in utah and it is amazing. fun for halloween and even has funny stuff in it. you can check it out here. this year we went with my brother m* and his wife e*.

we carved pumpkins, this one is from another time we did it cause I forgot to take a picture of the one i did on halloween, don't worry it was lame.

i dressed up at a ramp agent, aka cody at delta. it was awesome. we looked like twins for the day. ha ha. i did this for work, in attempts to win a costume contest yep sure didn't.

{jet tried on the headphones.. too funny}

jet was a devil for halloween, pictures to come. he filled the part well and even left his costume alone. grand.

we hiked the y with cody's mom. her and i had never done it so we did it, and took jet with us. he was a trooper and made it up and almost down on his own, and he slept the rest of the day only getting up to eat and drink. splendid.

i made a few desserts, I have gotten into baking and decorating stuff it is actually pretty fun. i made spider cupcakes, cute forgot to photograph them. with the left over icing i made sugar cookies. we made frankensteins.

then sure enough cody left us again for SEMA, the car show in vegas, for 4 days. So you guessed it, pictures, greys and loving the pup.

so i guess it is on to november. we have a bunch coming up it seems. cody just got back from vegas, he is taking his stage check in flying as we speak. his little brother r* gets married tomorrow, so we will be doing that wedding party stuff again. my mom has a knee replacement on the 16th. cody turns 28... ha ha! and we have our 6th wedding anniversary on the 22nd. thanksgiving is on the 24th, and dad's birthday is on the 26th. talk about a packed month. so i guess i will be updating the blog a bunch in the upcoming weeks.

happy november!!

.. meet the graduate ..

alright so i am like 3 weeks behind on this. i suck as a wife sometimes. right now is one of them. lame. i have been updating my food / diet / gym / whatever blog (click here if you want to take a peek) almost everyday and i forgot that i had another two blogs to update. wow. alright. so on april 28th my hot hunk of a husband walked across the stage and got his diploma. it was definitely a family affair and he loved it every single minute of it. here are a few pictures from that day..

{the front door that i decorated for him }

{cody and his dad and brother}

{cody and i}

{ cody and his aunt donna }

{cody and his mom and step dad, don't mind that she looks upset, she had just finished crying.}

{cody with my brother and parents and me }

{cody and his grandma ruth}

                  {girl sandwich anyone?}

he looked so great and his department was fantastic. they gave all the pilots a set of wings to put on his stol, you can see it in the picture with his grandma, and they gave him the dr. seuss book oh the places you"ll go. and of course an empty leather folder for when they mail his diploma to us. ha ha.

congrats cody on your big day. i was so proud of you, i might have even misted a bit. MAYBE. i am so proud of you making a choice to be great at something and doing it. hopefully our kids will get those genes. congrats graduate.

now that he is graduated i am sure you are all wondering what he will do. or maybe you don't care, but i am going to tell you anyway. HA!

he is still doing a few more flights before he is officially done, only about a month or so. after finishing this off he is going to do his CFI training (certified flight instructor) and start taking on students. since the industry requires 1500 - 2000 hours of flight time before considering you for a job, we got a long way to go. when he is done with his personal training he will have 250 hours. ba ha ha, we will be in school forever. he plans on working there with students building hours and still working at delta on the weekends. then he is going to apply for the air force job again next spring in hopes to fly the kc-135 next year, if not then we will try and get a job with an airline. we got a while to go, but it will be amazing and i know he will do grand at it.

.. there is light at the end of that tunnel ..

well, it is official. cody is graduating in april. he applied last week and couldn't be more excited. this is a big deal for us, cody is the only kid in his family to graduate from high school with a diploma and now the FIRST to graduate from college.

i couldn't be more proud of him and the work that he puts in to studying and making the most of school. he is an amazing guy, who when he decides he is going to do something he goes for it and wastes no time. he has been studying hard and working for this for a few years, and he is going to be an amazing pilot. so watch out world, there is a going to be a new graduate in your midst in a few short months!
