.. a post vacation shake down ..

so we both made it home by sunday. we were both jet lagged and so tired. we had gone over to visit cody's parent and say hi and show them pictures, i will post those later.. and jet just went to play. he got a hold of a bottle and started chewing away. the week before we left for rome jet chipped his tooth. we aren't sure on what but he fractured the surface of it. the vet said it was nothing to worry about and that he would be just fine, we just needed to stay away from hard things and keep him healthy. no big right? 

well later that night we were having family dinner and jet was at his usual spot, begging for food. all of a sudden i noticed that his head started to shake. and he couldn't control it. i told cody and we waited and watched, nothing. after dinner we cleaned up and got comfy to watch a movie with the fam and all of a sudden he was shaking uncontrollably and he was so uncomfortable. we hurried and called the vet. we ended up driving down there and meeting the vet at his office at 9:40 at night. blah. 

the vet checked him out, gave him a shot of doggie Valium and told us to watch him for it to happen again in the next 24-48 hours. if it didn't happen again he thought it was that tooth. that he had irritated the nerve enough to cause muscle twitches. so we went home and to bed and watched him the whole next day, he was fine. just a dang tooth. so we have to try and keep him from doing the no no biting and make it to his three year checkup where they clean teeth and just have it pulled at the same time. oh boy we have a long 2 years ahead. 

.. stewart falls ..

this weekend we decided to hike to stewart falls here in lovely utah. we decided to take our little jet bug with us up there, and he was just a crazy. let me tell you. it is about a 4 mile hike round trip, 2 miles up and 2 back. we started at aspen grove, which is just above sundance. it really was a beautiful hike and fairly easy. it did have some rough spots and some rocky spots but for the most part super pretty and shaded most of the way. highly recommend it!

ok funny story on this one, jet HATES water. like won't walk in sprinklers, doesn't like stepping in slushy snow, won't walk through puddles, and when we tell him it is bath time he runs and hides in the shower. so we didn't think he would be to into the water up there. we got the top and walked him over to the fall and he jumped in. like spent the whole time we were at the falls in the water, what the?! i was so confused, he loved the water!

the rest of the night and the whole next day were spent like this. after 3 baths to get the dirt out, he was one whooped pup and slept all day. he is too cute. 

any hikes you have been on lately that you thought were fun?

.. love this boy ..

this boy brings me hours of joy and laughs. his newest thing is to sit in the window and wait for cody to come home. we bark at every bird, every person, car and even if a leaf blows. but he waits and waits for that black car and he knows that his dad is home. i love him. 

.. a dog problem ..

so recently we decided to watch disney's up. we had never seen it and had been told over and over that it was a great move, so cute and that we had to watch it. so we did. well so did jet. he saw the dogs on tv, in particular he was fond of doug. he would stand and stare at the tv every time doug came on and talked. but don't you worry it doesn't stop there. whenever they barked or doug spoke a bunch jet would cry and whine at the tv, and then proceed to run outside to see if he could find him. and since up, he now watches tv everytime there is a dog on it. oh boy.

.. it got too quiet ..

the other day i was in the bathroom gathering garbages for garbage night and it got quiet, you know when something is up when you don't hear them making noise - i am sure this is the same with kids. well, jet got quiet. figures. i turned my back for one minute and he shredded the box, i guess he really wanted mom to play 5700 cardboard piece pick up. thanks bud. 

.. how much is the doggie in the window ..

The other night I couldn't help but just laugh at jet. My dad was outside mowing the lawn with Cody and my brother j* and all he wanted to do was watch out the window. So we sat and watched, the whole time. and naturally when you watch for so long your neck gets tired so you just rest your chin on the window seal. he is too cute.

and no.. he isn't for sale :)

.. who knew that $2 could bring such joy ..

this guy is simply adorable. but he has a funny fetish. we will go to the pet store and buy him nicer toys, even ones with squeakers. But if you put the toy with a squeaker and a bottle he will pick the bottle any day. he will chase it around the floor and over the carpet, he will even attempt to take it outside, the dog door is too small for that but that doesn't stop him from trying. Good to know that all I have to do is drink a gallon of milk, or a container of juice and he is set for at least 2 days. love him.
