Every summer our family competes in a once monthly mini golf competition. We play guys against gals, and the gals sad to say have only won once. Well since Matson is home it was time for a well overdue competition. We made our way out to the cascade golf course... I must say it was a tough game..

Well after a two year absence on May 20th 2009 my younger bigger brother, Matson, returned from the Ohio Cincinnati Mission. He definately changed and grew up in many ways. He turned out for the better I must say, but we are so glad he is home. My mom could barely hold it in at the airport. We had to hold her back until he was a few feet from the bottom of the escalator before she rushed him. She started crying before she got to him. It was funny to see. We are all so glad he is back. It was a long but fast two years and now we only have to wait 4 years to do it again with Jarett.

Well after I had been back from the big apple for one month Cody decided that we would try our hand at a one day trip. We picked New york. We boarded a flight at 12:00am here and flew threw the night. We got there at 6am, and started on our day of fun. We started by eating breakfast in rockafeller center. We had an omlete, yum! After that we decided, kinda forced since nothing was open yet, that we would stroll through central park. We walked through enjoying the morning.
Watching all the dogs playing around and chasing balls and each other. It was fun, one day we will take Tyke there! After that we made our way to the Empire state building. We decided to not go up it but to just check it out. While we were close to that area, Cody wanted to stop at a Magic store. So we stopped. He shopped for about an hour and loved every minute of it. He is a goof. After that we went to times square. It was fun to walk around and watch Cody trying to see the tops of the buildings without success. We then decided that we would go to Grand Central Station.
We checked that out and saw all the bums down there. They are pretty funny, sleeping on the comfy chairs. After that we went to Rockafeller Center and went to the top. We toured the 3 levels and had fun.
We travelled down and decided it was time for some much needed food. So we found a subway. We snarfed down the food and then decided to head for the Brooklyn Bridge.
We walked all the way across taking time to pause and look at the skyline. So pretty. After that we decided that I needed a Cupcake, my favorite, at a great place up there Magnolia's Bakery. We went and got dessert and then went to the Museum of Natural History (Night at the Museum Site) took some pictures with Rex and then enjoyed our spoils.
After this we decided that it was best we started back to the airport since it was a 1 1/2hour subway ride and we needed to be there at least an hour early to get on the standby list for the flight home. We were both so pooped we could hardly make it.
We arrived home at 11:30pm and crawled into bed. School started bright and early the next morning. Talk about a trip but it was a blast!!

Well since it's been a while there are going to be a few posts today to catch up on all that I have missed.
Back in May, around the 1st, Cody's dog Jackson was put down. He had been battling arthritis and cancer and old age for a while. He was on year 15 and had a great life. It was a hard decision for Cody's parents and a hard one to swallow as family but it was time for him to go. He was a great dog, who I was scared of for years but learned to like over time. Tyke and him had started to become great friends, chasing each other around the lawn in barking wars. He is greatly missed but we know he is in a much better place now.
Miss ya Fathead!!
