Well, upon arrival... it was thanksgiving- but it was also Cody's birthday, and our 2 year anniversary-talk about a fun packed day... Cody talk about a sweetheart, got me two diamond bands to add to my wedding ring. They look beautiful, wow!! And I got Cody and ipod classic. He was stoked, he started downloading things that night.. ha ha. It was fun... well since we spent the day in the car and just hanging with the big family.. cody took me to dinner the next night at the Cheesecake Factory. However during the day we went all over, we went to the nelson atkins museum of art.. and saw the jumbo birdies..

and we went to see the train station... where we saw a huge track and a giant christmas tree..

we had a great time, even though we missed our little puppy... he did okay though, he didn't even recognize us when we got home... sad but true. We had a great time and hope everyone else's Thanksgiving was great!!

Okay, So I realize that I haven't written in a really long time to the blog. I realized this when I got an email to check out a friends, that I hadn't written in so long... so I decided to give everyone an update. So the last time I wrote, I talked about leaving for our trip to Kansas City to see Cody's family for Thanksgiving. So here we go.... We left on the 20th of November for our journey. We traveled to only Laramie WY that day. It took us 4 hours to go 60 miles, we were in a really bad snowstorm. We ended up being stranded in Cheyenne WY for two days while we waited for the storm to pass through... We found tons of cowboy boots in this town... hence cody next to the 'boot'...

We spent the day just wandering around and checking out the non existent things to do here. And again we found more boots hanging out... here we are!!

After sitting in Cheyenne for two days and debating whether or not we should try and make it to Kansas City, we opted to go. We loaded up and started across Nebraska. We made it all the way through the state and to Kansas city that day. WOW talk about a long time in a car... but we did make a few stops... we found a fort in Nebraska named... Fort Cody!

And we also had a run in with a bear...

and Cody tried on cowboy hats... lookin hot hun!!

Well we finally made it later that day... finally... phew!! What a journey...

Well, today I feel sad. I know this sounds really lame but I am sad that I have to leave my cute roots at home. Cody's grandfather is suffering from lung cancer, and has asked the family to gather in Kansas City to spend Thanksgiving together. Today we are leaving for the 15 hour drive out there. I am sad that I am leaving my baby here for like 5 days alone. It makes me really sad that I am going to be without him. Not to mention, that before we left, my parents dog.. Roxy, had to have surgery yesterday to remove a large lump on her knee that was potentially cancerous. So she is very sensitive, and Tyke is trying so hard to love on her and make her feel okay which sometimes can be a little rough for Roxy. I am sure that he will be okay, he is staying with my parents for the week. But I still worry, what can you do? I am a worried mom. Well I am sure I will write again soon and possibly from Kansas City! Have a great day everyone!!

We thought we would share some pictures and fun stories surrounding our little, as we call him, 'Roots'. This first pictures is one of him that we took when he was about 4 months old. We had taken him to a nearby park to hang out and try out grass and ponds and what not... he is too cute!!

Another day, we had gone to work and left him with my Mom who watches him and their dog and when I went to let him in the house he seemed to act a bit funny. I didn't know what was wrong, well after much searching we discovered that he had been stung by a bee. He is apparently allergic, so after some laughs and some benadryl he looked normal.

One of my favorite faces he makes at me is when he is laying upside down. He makes me think of the Joker, but I think he is much cuter and funnier. What do you think?

Lastly, we were searching for a sweet Halloween costume when we found this one. We thought perhaps it would fit. We were terribly wrong. Sad.. it was a lion, and I laughed so hard I cried when I saw it, but it sure didn't fit. So we ended up opting for Superman instead.

He is so fun to be with and be around. I really love him a ton and so glad that we decided to let him come live with us!
