So we have had a wonderful fourth come and go. I always love this holiday minus the intense heat that always seems to come with it. In years past we have always slept out on University Ave for the parade on the fourth, this year we decided to change things up.

My family decided to ditch out on the parade and eat breakfast together as a family. So we all went over to Magleby's for their breakfast buffet. I have to admit it was pretty good, but I wasn't quite awake to fully enjoy it. After eating up, Cody and I decided that we should go and visit Cody's parents, because it is their anniversary. So we went and spent some time with them. I love them and the wonderful family they have created. I always enjoy spending time with them. After finishing up with them we visited Center Street and all the fun booths that are there for the fourth.

After all this excitement and the heat we decided that a nap was in order, or at least I did. So I cuddled up in my blanket with Tyke and took a nap while my family watched Independence day.. how fitting. After taking a brief nap and feeling good about my life, we went outside to enjoy dinner. It was quite tasty I have to admit, we had shiskabobs and rice... yum. Then Cody got all excited, it was time to do some fireworks. He is like a four year old when it comes to doing things like this, so he pulled out smoke bombs and the little parachuter man and set off fireworks. Our next door neighbors, who are from Australia, came out to see. I guess in Australia fireworks are banned to the public, so they were excited to see that fireworks can be done by the public.

Cody with his parachute man that shot out of his firework.. he was so excited, he chased it down the street.

We then went to a new spot, my dad investigated out, to watch the Stadium Fire fireworks. We took our neighbors from Australia and sat out and waited for them to start. Their kids were so much fun to play with and couldn't wait for the fireworks. It was a great Fourth.

I am so glad I live in a country that is free and that we have brave women and men who go out and defend us to make that possible.
