.. 5 years + a birthday ..

today we celebrate our fifth anniversary and mr c* birthday.

..2005..

got married november 22, 2005

. c* spent the night before our wedding in the hospital

. thanksgiving was at the golden corral this year, the day we came home from our honeymoon

. our dryer lit on fire the first night we were home from the honeymoon and we ended up sleeping on a blowup mattress on my parents living room floor.

. we celebrated our first christmas, we opened our gifts on christmas eve (c*'s idea)

. rang in the new year with the annual tanner fam olympics

*lesson learned : it is hard to live with another person, but kind of fun too. *

..2006..

. we visited c*'s grandpa and new wife (yes we were married longer than they were) in kansas city

. we both decided to jump back into school

. took c* to disneyland for the first time

. i started working at career step

. i had a birthday

. we started school, again

. celebrated one year! + a birthday

. c* started selling cars

*lesson learned: its the little things that count.*

..2007..

. we lived through a semester of school, phew

. c* started working at dodge, as a used car coordinator / detail manager

. c* quit dodge and started working for an architecture firm

. c* quit the firm and decided to do summer sales in new mexico. i couldn't go, my job wouldn't allow it for 4 months, so i moved into my parents house. there was no bedroom so i slept on the floor for 2 weeks until my brother m* left on his mission.

. i found out i had developed food allergies, joyous

. c* quit summer sales after 4 weeks and moved back to utah. he started working at untouchables motorsports

. we got tyke!

. my parents started and finished the basement, which we moved into.

. c* changed his major from architecture to aviation

. we went on a thanksgiving trip to kansas city with c* parents to visit grandpa c* who had developed lung cancer. celebrated thanksgiving, christmas & new years with them over 4 days. our anniversary + birthday were on thanksgiving. i got two diamond bands for my ring, c* got a ipod classic.

. celebrated christmas, tyke loved ripping up the wrapping paper

. rang in the new year tanner fam olympic style

*lesson learned: your heart can love more than you know.*

..2008..

. started another semester of school..

. found a townhome we wanted to purchase, started working with the seller.

. i went to disneyland with my parents and brother to cheer for my sister k* at cheer nationals

. things fell through and we didn't get the townhome

. discovered that yet again i had developed even more food allergies

. i discovered i had two herniated discs in my back

. c* started flying

. decided to have tyke fixed

. i had another birthday

. c* started working at skywest airlines

. c* passed his private pilot test and got his first license. we celebrated, i threw him a surprise party at his favorite restaurant, pf changs.

. i got laid off from my job

. we took our first trip using c* benefits - san francisco

. we celebrated 3 years + a birthday

. i found a job working at courtyard at jamestown

. rang in another year with the tan fam olympics

*lesson learned : sometimes life is hard, but that is when you dance, its all about your attitude*

..2009..

. tyke decided he really liked snow

. c* grandfather passed away due to the cancer. we travelled to minnesota for the funeral

. i went to NYC with the art department at school for a week. i LOVED it

. i took my first flight with c* and his old instructor ben hill, yes i was scared - his flight instructor yelled at me and told me to trust him and get in the plane and that was the end of that.

. c* and i made the first of many NYC day trips

. m* got home from his mission

. c* and i took m* to arizona for a weekend trip

. c* got a job at delta airlines

. c* and i went to San Fransisco to celebrate my birthday

. i got a job at UVU

. we discovered tyke had cancer, we started treatments with the oncologist dr greenburg

. c* and i took his mom to NYC for her birthday, just a day

. i entered a state art show and was accepted

. we celebrated 4 years + a birthday

. christmas came, tyke and i both were sick.. blah

. celebrated new years with the tan fam olympics

*lesson learned: work hard for those you love *

..2010..

. we lost tyke to his battle with cancer

. we celebrated valentines in maui

. i applied to the BFA program and was accepted

. i went to san francisco with a group of photo friends

. i was in 7 art shows in 4 months

. i graduated from UVU with my BFA

. we went to washington dc

. i started the job hunt and found one at american crafts

. we participated in two weddings and a 16th birthday all in a week

. we went to maui for my birthday

. c* finished his instrument test and started his multi engine training

. c* went to sema with a bunch of guy friends

* lesson learned : you have to depend on each other through the rocky stages of life & learn to laugh at yourself*

.today we celebrate 5 years + a birthday

.. to my sweetheart ..

i love you more than i can ever describe, i am so glad and privileged to be "stuck" with you for the past 5 years and for the eternities to come. i am so glad that we found each other and that we decided to give dating one last try. thanks for being there when the road got rough and patchy and for the times we sailed right through. thank you for the reality checks, that i am really becoming like my mom, and for the love. thanks for always making me laugh and taking time to take care of me when i feel sick. i will love you forever & like you for always.
