.. can you see me now? ..

today we visited the eye doctor. i haven't been in a few years and recently developed a black spot in my vision. it gets really annoying, let me tell you. so i caved and made an appointment. it worked out well cause c* needed a check up on his eyes - he has chronic redness & irritation.

so we showed up and signed in, i filled out like 12 sheets (okay it was only 5.. but still) and then got taken back. i was put through a prescription test to see what i would need if i got glasses, and then the reading one with the letters. I have perfect vision in one eye and 20/15 in the other. needless to say i don't need glasses. then came the black spot. i told the doctor about it and we started talking about it, he decided it could be a few things and wanted to do a mapping of my eye. so my head was put into a "bubble" dome that shot lights onto the wall and a camera that watched my eye and i had to click a button every time i saw a spot. each eye takes 10 minutes to test.. blah. after all the testing they found nothing abnormal, so they decided to dilate my eyes and take a look inside. so after 3 sets of burning drops and 10 minutes later, i looked like this.

fun, i know. c* thought it was hilarious. after looking around inside they couldn't find anything and decided that whatever it was would resolve itself in a matter of weeks and if it came back then i should come back.

c*'s problem, is on going. so this time the doctor implanted some "silicon implants" (not the boob kind..) into his tear ducts. they are supposed to force the eye to keep the tears around instead of wicking them away like they have been. and he got some steroid drops. hopefully it resolves his ever present red-eye.

we left the doctors office, i wore dark sunglasses indoors.. looked retarded. we went to target to get c*'s prescription filled. he thought it was funny to try and see if i could see stuff and then ask me stupid things like "is there anything you want to look at?" lame.

it is now 2p and my eyesight it back, thank heavens. what an adventure.
